The Palladium New York

The theater was rechristened The Palladium–named for a mythical image of Athena that protected the city of Troy–with a show by The Band in 1976. Numerous rock bands appeared “Live at the Palladium,” including Springsteen, David Bowie, Blondie, Genesis, and many more. In 1985, the Palladium was converted into a nightclub by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, after their success with Studio 54.
