Christmas 1912: Tim, the Polydactyl Shipwrecked Cat Rescued off Long Island » Cosey
Madison Square Garden was the site of the first cat show in America, the National Capital Cat Show, sponsored by Englishman James T. Hyde on May 8, 1895. Cosey, a female brown tabby Maine Coon, was awarded a silver collar, a silver medal, and $10 in gold for best cat in the show. Cosey was owned by Mrs. Fred Brown.
