When Jerry was still in his youth, the buildings in his beat included Brooklyn City Hall, the Reformed Dutch Church, the Municipal Building, Collegiate and Polytechnic Institution, and the Court House. All of the land between Joralemon, Livingston, Court Street and Boreum Place, shown here in this 1880 map from the New York Public Library was once farmland owned by Philip Livingston and turned over to the city in 1801.
