1904: Jerry Fox, the Spectacled Cat of Brooklyn Who Saved Borough Hall » Hughes

Court Street Brooklyn

When Jerry began losing his sight, Dr. Charles F. Hughes reportedly designed some glasses for the cat. You can see the sign for Hughes’ optical business at 59 Court St. in the 1915 photo. All of the buidings were razed when the new Municipal Building was erected in 1924. Photo: Long Island Hisorical Society
