Centre Market New York City

The Centre Market, constructed around 1817, derived its fame from being the only centrally located market in the city. This original building was expanded by 75 feet in 1822, and again in 1826 and 1831. In the 1830s, the Seventh Regiment occupied the upper stories of the Centre Market.
