George Francis McAneny, Manhattan Borough President

George Francis McAneny, Manhattan Borough President from 1910-1913, said $225 an acre was too much for farmland on Long Island. Smithtown residents, on the other hand, thought the land would be worth at least $1000 an acre for residential development in the near future.
