First Third Avenue Cable Car

By the mid-1880s, the Third Avenue Railroad Company began operating cable cars on the Tenth Avenue cable line and 125th Street line. The Railway used cable cars as well as horse-drawn streetcars until 1899 when the company switched over to electric-powered trolleys.
