One time Brian Hughes told a colonel of the British Army that his trees in Monroe grew vegetables. Sure enough, when the colonel came to visit, he saw an old apple tree with cabbages, cantaloupes, lemons, onions, peaches, pineapples, sweet pickles, and other vegetables “growing” on the tree. What he didn’t see were the copper wires used to attach them to the tree.
