If you’ve ever walked down the very narrow section of Ann Street between William and Gold streets — as I recently did to take these photos — you would have walking over the old, narrow Van Tienhoven farm lane. Although city authorities widened most of Ann Street in 1830, for some reason they never widened this small section.
