Southeast corner of Hoyt and Livingston Street, Brooklyn

During the early 1900s, construction was taking place all around Octavia Friedrich. This photo of the southeast corner of Hoyt and Livingston — looking east down Hoyt Street — shows the old Ludwig Baumann Store at #35 on the left. This site had previously been a 2-story brick building with a paint shop and a carriage making facility in several frame buildings. New York Public Library Digital Collections
