New York City Hall dome

This photo of New York City Hall shows the exterior of the large custodian’s apartment where Marty Keese lived with his family. In his later years, when most of his children had moved out, a servant, Julia Kelly, and Mary Noonan, a 7-year-old student (listed as a “boarder” on the 1900 Census report), also resided in the apartment.
