Great Fire New York

On the night of July 18, 1845 – the night before the third Great Fire of New York began – 8-year-old Marty got into a fight with one of the lads who ran with Phenix Engine Co. 22. The Great Fire of 1845 destroyed Engine 22 and 345 other buildings in Lower Manhattan. Four firefighters and 26 civilians were killed. View of the Terrific Explosion at the Great Fire in New York. N.
